Letters from Camp: Would you Rather?

aspiringwriter22 did the “Would you Rather book tag” which inspired her writing one, and so here are my answers for that!

Would you rather only read trilogies or only read standalones?

This is easy, Trilogies of course!  I really love to be able to stay immersed in worlds I have come to love!

Would you rather only read male or female authors?

To be perfectly honest, I really don’t care!  I half the time don’t even really notice the gender of the author. I only pay attention to the author so that I can read more of the things they write!

Would you rather shop at Barnes and Noble or Amazon?

Another easy one, neither!  I want to spend my money at small local bookstores! I want to support authors and purchase books where they are going to get more of the proceeds!

Would you rather books were made into TV shows or movies?

Hmmm, I think TV shows. There is more of a likelihood for them to get more of it right, and if it is well done, more to enjoy.

Would you rather read only 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?

I think I would have to go with five books per week!  Of course, during my heaving writing stints I wouldn’t manage that, but five pages per day is no where near enough if I am reading!

Would you rather be a professional author or reviewer?

Author of course!  But then that has been my dream since I was a kid!  Besides, I always feel a bit self-concious when I review, because it is all just a matter of opinion, and what makes my opinion more important or worth more than someone else’s?

Would you rather be a librarian or a bookseller?

Having done both in my life, I would have to say bookseller!  You have a lot more control, and you don’t have the same quiet atmosphere in a bookstore! I like the joy and noise that can happen in a store over a library.  A library just feels too formal and stiff for someone like me!

Would you rather read only your favorite genre, or every other genre but your favorite?

I am thinking I would have to go with favorite genre. I mean sure it could get boring, buuuut sometimes it changes! Ok, not really for me, I have really only shifted favorite genres once, and that is since reading as a kid!  But, honestly, I very rarely read outside my favorite genre anyway.

Would you rather only read ebooks or physical books?

If I had to pick, I think I would go for physical books. There is nothing that has the same feel and smell as a book. I love that paper and ink smell. Especially the one you get from older books, but they have a smell to them, a smell that is unique to books that I could not live without.  I would be sad to loose the versatility of ebooks however.  Because on a trip, it is hard to ever bring enough books with me!

Well there you have my “rathers”!  What about you?  I leave the challenge up to you now!  What would you rather?
