Figured that I should share my first attempt for this project that I am undertaking. 365 Flash Fiction pieces is a big challenge, but I am up for it! For any who would like to join me, I will try to leave the prompts here for you as well. I may not share every piece as I am hoping that these will be something I can publish.
Here is the prompt first: At dawn the creatures don’t hide, they come out to play.

It wasn’t that we didn’t want to be out frolicking in the sun, it’s just… that was when they came out to play and it really just wasn’t safe.
When you think of monsters you think of the things that live in the dark. Waiting to get you from under your bed or when the closet door gets left ajar.
That was not the kind of monsters we think of. We know the real monsters wait for us to come out and play in the sun. They come out when dawn races across the sky, flooding the world with her brilliant rays. It is only in the presence of her beautiful glow they devour us whole.
I hope you enjoy, please leave any thoughts in the comments! I would love to know where you would like to know more. How could it be improved? Or even share your own flash fiction response to the prompt!
