DFF: Thumbing It

Today’s is a short, and may be considered by some to be incomplete. It was a fun little piece and I may revisit this one at some point.

Today’s Prompt: Leroy dusted the glitter off his dress and stuck out his thumb, hoping the next ride was just as great.

Thumbing It

Somewhere outside of Tahoma the van pulled to a stop, letting Leroy hop out, they were turning left and he needed more than anything to go right. Slowly walking down the road with his bag he had to laugh at his trip across country. He took it on as a dare from his buddies. They said he had to do it in a dress, to see if he could get all the way back home. Seeing more cars coming, Leroy dusted more of the glitter off his dress and stuck out his thumb, hoping the next ride was just as great!

The semi pulling up was almost threatening, but he had always heard good things about truckers, here was to hoping they were right.

So what say you? Is that finished? Where would you take it? What does the prompt say to you?  Please share in the comments below!  And if you enjoy what you find here, please do check out the anthologies I am published in! The MN Emerging Writers and the National Edition!
