Poem: Lost

Something that came to me tonight and I thought I would share.

Lost

Lost and alone,
broken and confused.
Hope abandoned,
emotions all skewed.

Looking for something,
not knowing what.
Scattered thoughts,
lost to the wind,
knowing that something,
is needed within.

Love and joy,
can’t be found.
Happiness fled,
sadness abounds.

Seeking, ever seeking,
searching without end.
Jumbled heart,
never to win,
trying to find,
lost hope again.

Aftermath of NaNo & Upcoming holidays

2013-Winner-Facebook-Cover

I managed to fly through NaNoWriMo with plenty of words to spare, ending with a grand total of 51453 Words!  My story isn’t finished yet, which was my goal, but it is close… I have roughly eight scenes left and I will continue working on it until I am finished!

With NaNo finished I have taken up a new project.  I found my original poetry and the first story I ever wrote.  With them in hand I am hoping to create an ebook with some of my poetry to sell!  It is the start to becoming a published author!  We shall see what I have…

Also, it seems that Christmas is fast approaching, not sure why it seems there is less time this year, but it just feels that way.  As I am planning to make all my Christmas presents this year I really have to get a move on!!!  At least I have most of that figured out.  That just means I have to figure out how to juggle my time a little better so I can fit my blogging back in!

Stay tuned as I am sure I will hit the ground running once more!

What about everyone else?  Did you reach your NaNo goals?   How are your current WIP coming along?  Do you have special plans for Christmas?  Please share, as always I love to hear from you all!!!

On The Water

The last light of day,
the first rays of dawn,
show the rivers of flame
dancing on the waters!

Tempting you deeper,
Look inside
bathe your soul and heart,
find your desire!

Fulfilled by a promise,
the elements merge
Guiding you onward,
cleansing your spirit!

Midweek Poetry Break: Memories

So I had this all ready to post last week, but life rather got in my way.  I also took that time for a much needed break.  Feeling much refreshed I am going to try to get back in the swing of things.

Last week was the five month mark of the loss of my wife, so I thought I would share a poem and picture that I photoshopped.  It was one of the first one’s I tried to photoshop without her, I used our engagement picture as it is one of my personal favorites.

Tribute to Mothers Day

1368425676074

Yesterday was Mother’s day, and I didn’t want the event to pass without a tribute to mothers everywhere. It is a day that is often hard for me, I was adopted when I was seven by my grandparents, and as such I never knew exactly what to do. If I celebrated with one, then I would hurt the feelings of the other. Now that I am older it is a much easier issue. I was extra blessed because I also had one of the most amazing Step Moms in the world as well, so as you can see, I was blessed enough to have three moms! So in tribute here is a little… well, some thoughts I have on the issue…

                                           Three Blips of Time

Ma, for the first seven years of my life you were who I turned too.

Life changes though, and the passage of time took me from your home.

JoAnn, you walked in and out of my life, from 7 till you died.

Life took you from us too soon, I have yet to truly mourn your loss.

Grams, you have been the one constant in my life,

always ready with thoughts, advice or support.

No matter what life threw at me, my support network has been strong!

Mother is so much more than a title, and in the end, the title doesn’t mean a thing, it is nothing more than a word, the meaning is the one we give it as individuals! Thanks for always being there…

How about you? Is there a wonderful woman in your life? Someone who supports you, no matter what life throws?!? A mother of the heart isn’t always the one we call mom, sometimes she is the one in the background we least expect! Remember to thank all those women in your life who have stood by you, think and thing.

Midweek Poetry Break: Grief

Today’s poetry break is inspired by the loss of my wife and a picture poem I found on Facebook.

noonemissesyoumorethanmeGrief

Grief,
Such a simple little word.
The actions it creates are not as simple.
Loss,
Such an experience,
But not something we would choose.
Trials & Tribulations,
That is what they are,
Deep & Moving,
Experiences they create.
I will feel Grief and Loss,
Every day of my life,
But I will move on,
Find a way to Live!
Widow,
a title received,
But I am more than that!
Hope,
Belief in the good,
I will seek this out as you would have!
