Today’s Prompt:“Are you sure that’s what’s next?” The orange tabby shrugged. “You’re the one who taught me to read. If you don’t trust me, then read the stupid recipe yourself.”
Today’s Story:
Old Dusty Cooking
“Alright, the muffins are almost finished… what is left? I did all the dry ingredients, and most of the wet, I think. Now it should be combining, maybe adding the blueberries? What is next?” I asked.
“Looks like now you add three tears.” comes the thoughtful response.
“Wait, what? Are you sure that is what comes next? This isn’t a love potion or something…” I trail off and wonder where she found the recipe.
The orange tabby shrugged. “Look, you’re the one who taught me to read. If you don’t trust me, read the stupid recipe yourself.”
“I trust you, it just took me by surprise, where did you find this recipe?” I asked, stirring in the tears and blueberries. “Is this ready for the oven then?”
“Yeah, once you stir in the tears and blueberries you can bake it for 20 min or until golden brown and springy to the touch. As for where I got the recipe, I don’t know, there was this book you had, it was in the back of the shelf covered in dust. The title said something about Baking Your Life Away. Seemed interesting, so I went with it.”
There you have it, a fun little cooking piece. I am actually thinking this world needs more like this! I really enjoyed the orange tabby who is trying to kill off the chef!
