Letters from Camp: One Day, at NaNo Camp…

First a quick update… I have to say I sadly did not manage my 5k day, but I did manage over 1k!  So that is something, there is still hope! I know that I can do it! Maybe tomorrow I will hammer out enough to get more caught up!  Now, here is an idea that was tossed at me, and this is my attempt. I know that there could be more, and that this can become “something” so let me have it!

This one time at NaNo camp, there was this inappropriate comma! And don’t get me started on the ellipses, stuck where one should never go. The fragments that leave you hanging! Feeling oh so unfulfilled! Or the sentences that seem to go on and on and on and on. The repetition, same words, phrases, and the like, abusing our minds in a manner most unbecoming!  And what is with that exclamation point, or is it mark… really, why can’t it stick with the point!  I have ta say… really and truly, why can one never get what should be where?!?

I have a few ideas for adding in the dash, question mark, colon, those could all be added, and I would like to think up a few more different grammatical type things.  Maybe even create a second little story! What do you think?!?  What more does it need? What would you want to see in there?

Letters from Camp: The Mosquito!

I have a tale to tell… of a lonely little mosquito.  One who was so lonely in fact that he decided to… oh, wrong story!

This story, is really in fact about that pesky mosquito swarm!  You know the one. It follows me all around camp! I can’t go anywhere, or get anything done!  For some reason it would seem that anything I do manage to get done, gets all the life sucked right out of it! I don’t really know how, but I know that durn mosquito swarm is behind it!

Letters from Camp: A Quick Update!

Well, I honestly don’t have much to day today!  I managed to eke out around a hundred words today!  So that is something.  Seems that all the fun mystical creatures were hiding today!  They didn’t want to come out to play.  Makes me wonder what is going on!

Something must be about to happen…  Keep me posted will you?  Have you heard anything?  Any rumors through the grape vine of what is coming in the world of camp?  Someone must know something!

Letters from Camp: Midway Point… Oh my!

Oh my… we are already half way through camp?!?  Say it isn’t so!  Whatever will I do when I have to go home from this wonderful journey?  No longer have the unicorns out back and the mermaids in the harbor!  At least there is the baby phoenix that will be coming home with me!  He and I bonded instantly, I was so happy he didn’t run amok yesterday.  Saints alive, Pandemonium Day was a mess!  Things seem to be settling down now though.  Sadly we are looking to a whole new crazy, what with camp already being half way to a close!

I have to say, I am a total and complete fail!  Thus far this month, the writing has just not really happened. I have just been so stuck. I have been more than ready the past few days, but life keeps getting in the way!  Well, tomorrow starts another attempt at a MEcation!  Right in the middle of camp!  So hopefully the words will pour out on the page!

Today being Gummi Worm Day, I will totally make it all better and bring a few bags to share with the mermaids!  I am sure the Griffins would love if I would bring some by!  You never would have known it, but gummi worms are their favorite food!  Just mind their beaks!

Letters from Camp: Pandemonium Day!#!@!

Oh man! The flood gates have opened! There is ORANGE coral growing on LAND! Today is Pandemonium Day, and I fear the dragons are going to have us all!  The unicorns have stampeded through the valley, the mermaids are trying to pull everyone out to sea, and the phoenixes are puffing up in flames when they land on people!

Be careful out there today folks! Anything could happen! If the Harpies are going to carry you away, make them work for it!

Letters From Camp: Another Day

Wow, I can’t believe it!  Another day of camp has come and gone.  I am really having a great time!  Frolicking with all sorts of magical creatures! I didn’t know there were so many different types of unicorns!  And don’t get me started on mermaids!  It is a shame you couldn’t join me at camp this year, I am really missing your company!  Ah well, there is always next year!

Say, did you know that I did not do a single drop of writing yesterday?!?  Nope, not one.  I know… it is sad really.  Ok, the truth of the matter is, I did a ton of writing, but not a single word on Mo Thuras.  But not to worry, I am still enjoying camp and I am still ahead of schedule!  I will get back with the program today I promise.  It was the mermaids fault!  No really! They distracted me with all the frolicking today and then when the unicorns joined in the fray how was I suppose to not join in! I mean honestly.

You know that you totally would have joined in the fun too!  Besides, there was a full moon last night.  I couldn’t help but run and play.  Well I am sure that at some point today I will forge on ahead. After all my distractions I am bound to have new and fun creative ideas.  In fact I already had one! I know the next thing I am going to write. It is not story exactly.  No, it is instead Lana’s diary!  You know, we all need for Melody to have something right! I was delighted how she told me tonight that she has her máthair’s diary!  So I am sure not only will there be glimpses of her reading that through the novel, learning more of her history, the truth she so desperately is searching for, and yet more questions.  And maybe, just maybe the help to the ultimate answer she will figure out to “save the world”. *laughs* Or whatever it is she is supposed to do through this journey called life!

Inspiration Struck

Alright, so I totally had a different topic planned for today, but I wanted to share with you this bit of inspiration I had the other day.  You see, I have been really busy! Like… gone every day for a month now, busy.  So with that has been a lot of time spent in the car driving, which of course gives one too much time to think.  I had this major apostrophe!

So here it is, I write songs every once in a while and I had been thinking, how cool would it be to make a soundtrack for Mo Thuras, right?  Well… then after I am home I hop in the shower, why does the best ideas always happen in the shower where we can’t write them down?!?, and had this amazing tune, and the chorus to Melody’s life story pop in my head!

So, just to share with you, here is a little bit of the song that I created Sunday night.
